The Real Club de Golf El Prat, in Barcelona, will host, between December 26 and 29, an elite gathering of the Absolute and Junior Male categories as the final point of the amateur golf activities of this successful year 2004.

The main objective of this training camp is to maintain optimal physical, technical, and mental condition among the selected players during a time of year that is challenging for golf due to the often inclement weather. The coaches leading this camp will also use the opportunity to lay the groundwork for the upcoming season, which notably includes the Mediterranean Games, to be held at the end of June in Almería, in addition to the traditional European Championships.

The selected players, 25 in total, are the following: Ignacio Sánchez Palencia, Álvaro Quirós, Gonzalo Vicente, Daniel Palenzuela, Gervasio Cuquejo, Antonio Aguilera, Javier González Vallina, Alfredo García Heredia, Saúl Menéndez, Sebastián García Grout, Pol Bech, Juan Antonio Bragulat, Bosco de Checa, Xavier Puig, Jordi García Pinto, Álvaro Velasco, Pedro Oriol, Manuel Gil Castro, Manuel Gil Sanz, Jesús Legarrea, Jordi García del Moral, José María Cincunegui, Juan Francisco Sarasti, Mikel Galdós and Iñigo Urquizu.

The younger players – Gervasio Cuquejo, Antonio Aguilera, Javier González Vallina, Saúl Menéndez, Xavier Puig, Jordi García Pinto, Manuel Gil Castro, and Manuel Gil Sanz – will be accompanied by their respective coaches to attend an Advanced Training Course taught by Tommy Horton, a renowned professional specializing in putting and the short game. They will also participate in a rigorous training program that includes technique (led by Salva Luna), strategy (led by Pepín Rivero), physical conditioning (led by Francisco Fernández), and psychological support (led by Tita Lozano). Coaches Macarena Tey, Kiko Luna, and others from various High-Performance Training Schools across different Autonomous Communities will complement these activities for the younger players.
