Amateur player Rafael Cabrera, from the Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas, with a score of 11 under par, triumphed in the Canary Islands Golf Federation Open held between August 11 and 13 at the oldest golf club in Spain.

With a score of 10 under par, José Rodríguez Morera was the first professional player to qualify after a spectacular final round of 64 strokes, the best of the day and of the tournament.

The third-place finisher in the Championship (and second-place amateur overall), with a score of -9, was amateur Óscar Sánchez. The second and third places among professionals went to Paco Cea and Octavio Rodríguez, respectively.
