Almenara, in Cadiz, will host, between November 25 and 27, an elite Men's Under-18 Training Camp that will serve to shape the national team for the upcoming international commitments, with the European Under-18 Men's Team Championship, in mid-July 2006, as the backdrop.
The main objective of this training camp is to assess the physical, technical, and mental condition of the selected players during a time of year that is challenging for golf due to the often inclement weather. The coaches in charge of this camp—Salvador Luna, José Rivero, and Francisco Fernández, the latter responsible for physical conditioning—will also use the opportunity to lay the groundwork for the upcoming season.
The selected players, 15 in total, are the following: Lluis Gª del Moral, Francisco Pintor and David García Colomer (from the Valencian Community); Gonzalo Berlín (from Castilla y León); Juan Francisco Sarasti and Borja Etchart (from the Basque Country); Fernando Adarraga (Galicia); Iván Chacón and Javier Ballesteros (from Cantabria); Manuel Gil-Castro (from Madrid); Saúl Menéndez (from Asturias); Jordi García Pinto (from Catalonia); Gervasio Cuquejo, Pedro Núñez and Antonio Aguilera (from Andalusia).
