Gonzaga Escauriaza, president of the RFEG (Royal Spanish Golf Federation), waited on the steps of the federation's headquarters for the arrival of the Solheim Cup trophy, which arrived in a buggy carried by two ambassadors for the event, Mar Ruiz de la Torre and Adriana Zwanck. Escauriaza expressed his joy "at receiving the trophy at the Federation's headquarters, the home of us all, and that it marks the beginning of an exciting journey across Spain.".
For her part, Adriana Zwanck expressed her desire that "everyone gets involved in raising awareness of the Solheim Cup and that we are all aware of the importance of this event being held in our country in 2023" before, together with Mar Ruiz de la Torre, they launched the 'war cry' that identifies this sporting event: "Go Girls.".
The trophy will begin its journey in Madrid, carried by players from the Blume National School, and will then visit several clubs in the region. It will arrive at RCG Las Palmas in mid-February for the III Victory Cup, before traveling to the island of Tenerife for various institutional and promotional events. Upon its return to the Iberian Peninsula, it will be taken over by Castilla-La Mancha, before continuing its journey across the country.
Exhibitions, press conferences, clinics, special tournaments, attendance at events in other sporting disciplines… All these actions will take place as the trophy arrives in the different cities that have the honor of being part of this project, and will generate the opportunity to publicize women's golf in different social spheres, boosting the motivation of society in general for golf.
