On December 4, 2021, the Resolution of November 25, 2021, from the Presidency of the Higher Sports Council, approving the list of prohibited substances and methods in sport 2022, was published in the Official State Gazette.

The list of prohibited substances and methods is one of the International Standards that must be complied with by all sports organizations that are signatories to the World Anti-Doping Code.

The Prohibited List includes those prohibited substances and methods that are considered doping and are prohibited at all times, both during and outside of competition.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is responsible for the preparation and publication of the List of prohibited substances and methods which is reviewed at least once a year and published in October of each year. The Prohibited List comes into effect three months after its publication by WADA, coinciding with the beginning of each year (January 1). In the case of Spain, the list is incorporated into our national legislation by publishing it in the BOE.

The 2022 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods has been published and is now in effect. The main change is that all Injectable routes of administration are now prohibited for glucocorticoids in competition.
