The RFEG has renewed the insurance policies attached to the sports license of its members with the insurance company Allianz Seguros.

These insurance policies cover accidents suffered by members (046557680) during sports activities and civil liability (046540082) caused by said members as a result of such activities. All of this is in accordance with the terms established by Royal Decree 849/1993, of June 4, which determines the minimum benefits of Compulsory Sports Insurance, as well as Law 50/1980, on Insurance Contracts.

The Basque Golf Federation, for its members, has contracted its own specific policies (046557671 for accidents and 046538919 for civil liability) with the same coverages and guarantees as those of the RFEG.

Please pay special attention to completing the reports according to the protocols, otherwise Allianz will not cover the claims.

POLICY COVERAGE

1. From the accident policy (046557680):

An accident is understood to be a specific, violent, sudden, external trauma, unrelated to the intention of the member, suffered during sports practice (including those produced as buggy drivers), provided that they are not due to chronic and/or pre-existing injuries, chronic diseases or pathologies derived from the usual practice of the sport, repeated microtraumas, tendinitis, chronic bursitis, osteoarthritis or arthritis, herniated discs, and in general, any degenerative pathology.

Heart attacks and angina suffered by members will be considered accidents, provided that they occur on the playing field during sports practice or, subsequently, in the facilities of the club or sports venue.

Accidents suffered by members driving a golf buggy are covered.

To access the coverage, it is NECESSARY to follow the instructions in the PROTOCOL FOR ACTION IN CASE OF ACCIDENTS.

2. From the civil liability insurance policy (046540082):

Members will be covered against possible third-party claims for damages – bodily or material – caused as a result of practicing sports in a federated or official club, anywhere in the world (within the subscribed economic limits), expressly excluding those derived from the use of motor vehicles including golf carts.

For the purposes of coverage, the following will not be considered third parties: persons who, with respect to the deceased member, are spouses or blood relatives or relatives by marriage, up to the second degree, or employees in the performance of the functions inherent to their role.

To access the coverage, it is NECESSARY to follow the instructions of the CIVIL LIABILITY ACTION PROTOCOL.

BUGGIES AND GOLF CARS

We remind all Golf Clubs/Courses and federated sports facilities that civil liability caused by the driving/use of golf buggies/carts is NOT included in these policies, which is why we RECOMMEND that those who own, rent or lease them, proceed to subscribe to an INSURANCE POLICY that covers the liability that entails said use.

INFORMATION AND DISSEMINATION

All the information can be found in the corresponding section of the RFEG website.

www.rfegolf.es

We ask clubs to post all information on their notice boards for the information of all members.

FRAUDS / STATISTICS

In order to prevent potential fraud that could increase insurance costs for members, and also for statistical purposes, ALLIANZ will maintain a record of the number of claims processed. Therefore, it is MANDATORY FOR CLUBS/GOLF COURSES AND FEDERATED SPORTS FACILITIES TO RETAIN ALL PROCESSED CLAIMS for at least ONE YEAR after submitting them to the insurance company.
