The PING Junior Solheim Cup, an Under-18 competition that pits Europe against the United States as a prelude to the professional tournament, will hold its 2026 edition on September 7 and 8 at the Bernadus Golf course in the Netherlands, with four Spanish golfers participating: Adriana García Terol, Carlota López, Marta Muñoz and Carolina Pérez-Tasso.
In other words, the 33% team captained by Dutchwoman Anne van Dam draws from the prolific Spanish golfing scene, which has had a strong presence in this prestigious tournament in previous years. Of these four golfers, only Adriana García Terol qualified based on the PJSC ranking criteria, while the inclusion of Carlota López, Marta Muñoz, and Carolina Pérez-Tasso was a direct decision by the captain.
This was influenced by the gold medal won by the Spanish team at the recent European Under-18 Women's Team Championships, which included Adriana García Terol, Carlota López, and Carolina Pérez-Tasso. Meanwhile, Marta Muñoz earned a place by selection from the captain after winning the final qualifying tournament in mid-August, defeating her compatriot Adriana García Terol in the final of the R&A Girls Amateur Championship in Craigielaw.
The PING Junior Solheim Cup consists of six foursomes and six fourball matches on the first day, September 7, followed by 12 singles matches on Tuesday, September 8. The participating players will then remain to watch the Solheim Cup proper, which begins on Friday, September 11.
Fourteenth edition of the tournament
This will be the fourteenth edition of the PING Junior Solheim Cup, where Europe will be looking for its third victory in four editions after winning in 2021 and 2023 before falling to defeat on American soil in 2024. In the overall standings of the tournament, the United States has achieved nine victories to Europe's four.
The PJSC's US team will be captained by Morgan Pressel.
Thanks to the support of PING and the Solheim family, the competition has gained a reputation as a showcase for the best junior golfers, who later become world-class players.
