Rut Díaz and Ángela Revuelta, both from Madrid, represent Spain in the Junior Vagliano Trophy, a women's competition in the Under 16 category that pits the teams of Great Britain & Ireland against continental Europe on August 21 and 22 at The Island course in Ireland, near Dublin, the same venue and dates as the Jacques Leglise Trophy, a men's competition in the Under 18 category.

Rut Díaz comes with the bronze medal from the European Individual Under 16 Championship under her arm - she also contributed to the silver medal in the team competition - a renowned result to which she adds the runner-up titles in the Spanish Under 12 and Under 14 Championships and the victory of Madrid in the Spanish Under 16 Armed Forces Championship 2025.

For her part, Ángela Revuelta was also a member of the Madrid team that won the Spanish Armed Forces Under 16 Championship in 2024 and 2025, with a resume also adorned by individual triumphs in the Spanish Children's and Under 16 Championships in 2024 and the Madrid Championship in 2026. A great team player, Ángela Revuelta also contributed greatly to winning the gold medal in the Under 18 European Team Championship in 2026. 

He also knows what it's like to win this Junior Vagliano Trophy, because he was part of the continental European team that won in the Netherlands in 2025 by 11.5 to 6.5.

Apart from the two Spanish golfers, the continental European team consists of the Italian Maria Sole Albini, the Frenchwoman Elea Bastoni, the Swiss Lana Guyot and the Estonian Kristella Sikk, the current Under 16 European champion.

The game format establishes a series of three foursomes in the morning session and six individual matches in the afternoon on both days. 

This competition, which was held biennially between 2011 and 2021, has been annual ever since. To date, the Rest of Europe team has achieved nine out of a possible ten victories, an exception that Great Britain & Ireland managed to make their mark on the tournament's record books in the 2024 edition.

The Spanish presence in this competition has traditionally been very prominent, with the participation of Clara Baena and Harang Lee in the 2011 edition; Covadonga Sanjuán and Alejandra Pasarín in 2013; Blanca Fernández in 2017; Carolina López-Chacarra in 2019; Cayetana Fernández in 2021; Andrea Revuelta and Anna Cañadó in 2022; Nagore Martínez and Martina Navarro in 2024; and Adriana García Terol, Ángel Revuelta and Liz Hao in 2025.
