The Spanish Under-16 and Under-10 Pitch & Putt Championship, one of the premier short game events, is being held once again at Barbanza Golf (Boiro, A Coruña) from August 6th to 8th, with record participation. The Under-10 Boys' and Girls' competitions take place on the 6th and 7th, while the Under-16, Under-14, and Under-12 Boys' and Girls' competitions are played on the 7th and 8th.

In total, 201 golfers, more than ever, are participating this week, distributed as follows: 16 in Male Cadet, 11 in Female Cadet, 36 in Male Junior, 17 in Female Junior, 40 in Male Under-12, 14 in Female Under-12, 49 in Male Under-10 and 18 in Female Under-10.

This fifteenth edition of the tournament brings together golfers who, despite their young age, have already developed impressive sporting careers and are destined to make significant progress within Spanish golf. It takes place on a course that previously hosted the event in 2021 and 2025, and is considered one of the leading Pitch & Putt courses in the country.

Names to watch in three intense days of golf

As with other tournaments involving the youngest group in the Spanish golf academy, establishing benchmarks in this Spanish Under 16 and Benjamin Pitch & Putt Championship is a complicated exercise, although, considering the playing handicaps and recent past performances, it is possible to establish some mentions that, once on the course, they have to confirm with their play.

Among the cadets, the focus is on golfers such as Fernando Elías from Segovia (exact handicap +0.4) or Noelia Quintanilla from Seville (+0.1); among the juniors, Cornelia Bermudo from Seville (+2.8) - current Spanish champion of the category - and Ignacio Martínez from Madrid (1.2) set the pace; and among the under-12s, Martín Gancedo from Andalusia (3.1), defending the title, and Valeria Armas from the Canary Islands (4.9) head their respective lists.

Before that, the two Benjamin categories will come into play, which feature such interesting names as Paula Casas (13.9) from León, who has just won the title in the Spanish Benjamin Championship, or Leo Rey (7.6) from A Coruña.
