Everything is ready in La Gomera for the show to begin. From July 2nd to 4th, the Tecina Golf course will once again become the epicenter of international professional golf with the sixth edition of the Fred. Olsen Alps La Gomera, one of the most established and strategic events on the Alps Tour, the development circuit where the future stars of European golf are forged.

Expectations are high for a tournament that this year features an exceptional lineup of players, combining the audacity of young talents seeking to make the leap to the HotelPlanner Tour with the experience of big names on the international circuit.

This is the case of Álvaro Quirós (seven-time winner in the DP World Tour and runner-up in the previous edition in La Gomera) and Alejandro Cañizares (with two victories in the top European circuit), whose presence adds an undeniable extra level, experience and competitive prestige to the event.

The tournament on La Gomera, which will bring together more than a hundred players from fifteen countries, comes at a crucial point in the season, making the points at stake decisive for the circuit's future. The event's significance is demonstrated by the participation of eleven players currently ranked in the top 20 of the money list.

Among the top international attractions are Frenchman Alexandre Vandermoten, currently ranked third, Irishman Robert Moran (4th), and Italian Enrico Di Nitto (6th). Alongside them, consistent players like Englishman Mason Essam (9th) and Italian Alessandro Nodari (10th) will be looking to seize the top spot in the Canary Islands.

The Spanish contingent will once again be one of the largest and most competitive of the week, with several players in top positions to contend for the win. Leading the national rankings are Pablo Alperi, fifth in the Order of Merit, and Mario Galiano, eighth, both currently in excellent form.

They are joined by Gonzalo Leal (12th) and Víctor García Broto (13th), forming a group with serious options to keep the trophy at home, a list completed by names of the quality of Alejandro Rodríguez, Eduard Rousaud and Jorge Maicas.

Among the Spanish contenders, local attention will be focused on Álvaro Hernández Cabezuela (17th) from Tenerife, who arrives highly motivated after finishing third two weeks ago in Almería. "For me, it's always a pleasure and an honor to play an Alps Tour tournament at Tecina Golf, because it's the only event we have each year in the Canary Islands. I just finished third, only one stroke shy of the playoff, at Playa Serena, and that gave me a good boost. With the positive feeling I've had on the course and the added advantage of playing at home, we're hoping for a great week," the islander said.

The Canary Islands course, a work of art designed by Donald Steel, will once again demand the utmost precision from the players. Its distinctive downward design—starting at the top and playing towards the clubhouse in a constant descent—and, above all, its exposure to the Atlantic wind will be decisive factors.

Hernández Cabezuela himself analyzes the strategy that will shape the tournament: "It's a course where very low rounds are expected unless the wind picks up considerably. Generally, you need to shoot several rounds under par to be near the top. To do that, we'll need to be very accurate with our putting and sink those birdie opportunities that will be there. With good teeing and sinking those putts, you can be very high on the leaderboard.".

With 19 professional tournaments under its belt, including events on the HotelPlanner Tour (formerly the Challenge Tour) and the Alps Tour, and having seen world-class figures like Brooks Koepka pass through its fairways, Tecina Golf is now ready to crown its new champion.

The Fred. Olsen Alps La Gomera tournament is supported by the Government of the Canary Islands, Promotur Turismo de Canarias, the La Gomera Island Council, the Canary Islands Golf Federation, the Alps Tour, and Kyocera. The tournament is promoted and organized by JGolf.
