Royal Golf Club of San Sebastian

The Real Golf Club de San Sebastián (RGCSS), founded in 1910, is the pioneer of golf in the Basque Country and the third largest in Spain, and one of the founding members of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation. A prolific producer of golf stars, it has hosted countless national and international competitions and is the birthplace of such illustrious names as Tania Elósegui, Jesús María Arruti, and José María Olazabal, a two-time Masters champion.
The RGSS is located in the municipality of Hondarribia, five minutes from San Sebastián Airport and ten from the city of San Sebastián. Its facilities offer a beautiful view of the Txingudi Bay and Hendaye. Behind it rises the mountain that gives the field its name and which dominates the entire Bidasoa region: Jaizkibel.
The golf course and other facilities are situated on 50 hectares, where large stands of native oak trees predominate, along with accompanying species such as ash, hazel, field maple, holly, hawthorn, and the occasional rare whitebeam, white maple, and alder. The preservation of fine examples of oak and alder woodland is highly valued from an ecological and environmental perspective.
The course boasts a beautiful design, the creation of renowned French professional Pierre Hirigoyen, set on rolling terrain that demands significant technical and tactical skill from players. This attractive 18-hole, par-71 course offers a challenge to any golfer.
The clubhouse is of a sober and elegant design, in one of the most beautiful farmhouses located on the slopes of Mount Jaizkibel, used for years as a hunting lodge, and which was remodeled and expanded between 1966 and 1968. It houses the main restaurant, the players' dining room, bar, card room, etc., with a hospitality service structured to attend to all your social, work and sporting commitments in the most efficient and attentive way, in a beautiful natural environment.
The two-story indoor practice facility allows a large number of players to train there. It is complemented by two short-game areas, one with natural grass and the other with artificial turf, which was donated by José María Olazabal.
The entire pool area, with its striking and unique design, the putting green, the shop, the tennis and padel courts and its renowned nursery, make the Real Golf Club of San Sebastián one of the most established, prominent and high-quality clubs in Spain.
