Ramon Sota Golf Club

The Ramón Sota Golf Club is a small, close-knit group of golfers gathered around a golf course named after its honorary president, Don Ramón Sota Ocejo. The club's origins lie with Don Ramón and his desire to give others the opportunity to play golf and share his experiences. In this way, the renowned Cantabrian golfer, one of the pioneers of Spanish golf, could teach the joys of the game. Having dedicated his entire life to golf, he simply needed a place to do so. While competing, he saved money with the dream of building a golf school, and it was here in Agüero that he began. It started with a school, a café, and four par-three holes. Soon, the many enthusiasts asked for more, and we had to ask Seve to design and build a nine-hole course for us. Today, the club boasts over 200 members and magnificent facilities where everyone can enjoy playing golf. At our club, out of respect for everyone, and especially for Don Ramón, we do things right. "Good things take effort," our president always said. It wasn't unusual to see Sota tending the course, teaching how to play, of course playing golf with his friends, and also showing the players how to do things right both on and off the course. The 9-hole course is beautiful and very educational. It has been described as a mini-Augusta by many users. But its greatest treasure lies in the atmosphere. Through sight and sound, you will see that it's true, that it's a pleasure to be in the cradle of golf knowledge, and it is here that the entire Sota family, through activities, games, courses, and of course, through the Ramón Sota School, dedicates themselves wholeheartedly to passing on what their great teacher, Ramón Sota, taught them before. Please understand these words: we know what golf has taught us, and through travel and much effort, we have taken care to document it and then pass it on to educate others. Everything takes effort, golf even more so, which is why we love it and continue learning. Welcome to our golf club.
